Rest, Discernment, and What’s Coming

Life feels especially loud when you’re grieving, caring, and still trying to move forward—but this season is inviting you to slow down, listen, and let God lead your steps. Discernment matters in a world full of noise. Rooted in Proverbs 14:12 and Romans 12:2, this is a gentle reminder to test everything against God’s Word…

Happy New Year, ZFJ Sisters

“There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death.” – Proverbs 14:12 (NLT)

Hey friends,

I’m starting 2026 slower than I planned. Life has been heavy—my grandmother’s health is declining, and that’s been particularly hard so soon after my father’s death. I’ve been making the time to go visit and spend time with her almost every day. I’m learning that sometimes the most faithful thing we can do is honor the season we’re actually in, even when it means moving slower than we thought we would. I honestly think that is a lesson that I keep missing from the Lord, but we’ll discuss that more in an upcoming blog.

So I’m taking two more weeks of rest, but before I step away again, something is weighing on my heart that I need to share.

I Recently Added a Disclaimer to My About Me Page—And Here’s Why It Matters

My experiences are true to me, but please know that does not mean they are the truth.

As believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, we must take everything to the Lord in prayer. That means everything we see, every opinion we hear—and yes, everything I share here on this blog. Allow the Lord to minister to your heart regarding the noise.

In Proverbs 14:12 (NLT), the Lord tells us: “There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death.”

I sincerely don’t want to contribute to the noise in this noisy world. But I do experience things, and I want to share what I’m going through because it may help others like me who are going through the same things.

My sincere prayer is that all of us not only remember Proverbs 14:12, but also consider Romans 12:2 (NLT): “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”

We must always be in the Word of God concerning these matters.

I’m accountable to God for what I share here. I would encourage you to seek God and His wisdom for your own journey first, then guidance. Whatever scriptures I share, read them for yourselves and ask the Lord for clarity and how to apply what God’s shared with you (in your time with Him in the Word) in your life. That’s so important for your relationship with God and your faith journey.

What’s Coming

My next full blog will go live on January 28th. I’ll be sharing Jump-Start January—a full accountability update on my Determined December journey, the real and unfiltered truth about where I am in my health goals.

From there, we’ll continue the momentum with Faithful February, and each month beyond will have its own focus and alliterative theme. Until then, I’ll be continuing my daily visits with my grandmother. I’m leaning into the gentleness this season requires.

And I’m praying that as you read what I share—whether it’s about health, faith, grief, or life transitions—you’ll take it all to the Lord first. Test everything against His Word. Let the Holy Spirit guide you.

Life is a faith journey. Walk boldly—but always walk prayerfully. 💜

See you on January 28th,
